Blueprint North Fulton Moving the CID Forward

Approved in December 2008, Blueprint North Fulton is a strategic land use and transportation plan. Designed to create a cohesive vision for future growth and development along the Georgia 400 corridor, the Blueprint plan is focused on the commercial district from Mansell to McGinnis Ferry roads.

Sponsored by the North Fulton Community Improvement District (CID), the plan was developed in cooperation with the cities of Alpharetta, Milton and Roswell. Its primary goal is to maintain and enhance the area’s quality of life by helping plan, fund and accelerate infrastructure improvements.

The Blueprint North Fulton plan fosters a collective vision for more sustainable development patterns in North Fulton. Careful studies of residential growth, traffic flow, pedestrian access and area attitudes have created a common direction for future development.

With its success along Westside Parkway the CID has gained valuable insights into how development needs to more connected, allowing the CID to implement Blueprint North Fulton’s shared vision for the future.

CID Finishes 2008 with Balanced Budget

The North Fulton Community Improvement District finished 2008 with a strong balance sheet and a balanced budget. “We finished our Blueprint North Fulton master plan late last year and created a strong list of projects for the future. This year, we’re already off to a great start,” said Ann Miller Hanlon, Chief Operating Officer of the North Fulton CID.

“We ended last year well within budget and are expecting additional right-of-way costs for Westside Parkway to be paid soon.”

CID Moves Ahead with Blueprint Project List

“Branding” for the Community Improvement District and developing “model” land-use zoning regulations are two of the high-priority projects outlined in Blueprint North Fulton. The North Fulton CID board took a fast start into 2009 by approving both projects at its January board meeting, held Jan. 6 at the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce headquarters in Alpharetta.

Both projects are being closely coordinated with the cities of Alpharetta, Milton and Roswell. Urban Collage and Jordan, Jones & Goulding will work on the two projects, which should take approximately twelve months to complete.
