The North Fulton Community Improvement District (CID) and the City of Alpharetta today announced the completion of the Encore Parkway Corridor Project [link to project page], which includes the replacement of Encore Parkway Bridge. The project’s goal was to transform a local “cut-through” into a signature east-west connection from the Big Creek Greenway to the thriving Westside Parkway corridor in a tight 18-month timeline.

The $17.9-million project, which was jointly funded by the North Fulton CID, the City of Alpharetta, Georgia Department of Transportation, Atlanta Regional Commission and the Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank, closed Encore Parkway Bridge from Jan. 4, 2016, through Nov. 23, 2016, to replace the previous bridge over GA 400 with a wider bridge that included dedicated bicycle lanes, sidewalks and a landscaped median. We bid farewell to executive director and fearless leader, Ann Hanlon. Ann is leaving the NFCID after an exceptional 17 years to lead our neighbor, the Perimeter CIDs, as executive director. Ann has been with the North Fulton CID since 2005, serving as vice president of transportation, chief operating officer and executive director. In her time here, Ann grew the CID's project portfolio, annual budget, corporate partners and sponsorship roster while overseeing 12 engineers, accountants, project managers and two full-tine CID staff.

She has led the NFCID in successfully completing nearly two dozen projects that have transformed the North Fulton area, including the Encore Parkway Bridge and Corridor Improvement Project. Although we bid farewell, we look forward to partnering with her in her new position at the Perimeter CID to make the North Atlanta area the best and brightest it can be.  See story
