North Fulton CID Funds Additional Windward Parkway Improvements
ALPHARETTA, Ga. (March 7, 2013) – At its March board meeting, the North Fulton Community Improvement District (CID) selected Silverline Paving and Construction to complete another street improvement along Windward Parkway in Alpharetta.
The CID will fund construction to improve the intersection of Windward Parkway and North Point Parkway, which backs up daily as tourists and workers leave the Marriott hotel and the ADP office complex. The improvements are expected to increase the efficiency of the traffic signal at this intersection, which will also reduce travel times along Windward Parkway. The CID is partnering with the City of Alpharetta to fund this project, which has an estimated construction cost of $73,860. The CID has already paid for the design and traffic engineering of the intersection improvements. The project should be complete by summer.
“Once the CID and the city complete this project, traffic will flow easier, especially during rush hour,” said state Senator Brandon Beach, executive director of the North Fulton CID. “The intersection creates major backups every day for those who live and work in the area, so the CID is glad to play a part in solving this traffic problem.”
