NFCID and City of Alpharetta Announce Completion of the Encore Parkway Corridor Project –

The North Fulton Community Improvement District (CID) and the City of Alpharetta today announced the completion of the Encore Parkway Corridor Project, which includes the replacement of Encore Parkway Bridge. The project’s goal was to transform a local “cut-through” into a signature east-west connection from the Big Creek Greenway to the thriving Westside Parkway corridor in a tight 18-month timeline. The $17.9-million project, which was jointly funded by the North Fulton CID, the City of Alpharetta, Georgia Department of Transportation, Atlanta Regional Commission and the Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank, closed Encore Parkway Bridge from Jan. 4, 2016, through Nov. 23, 2016, to replace the previous bridge over GA 400 with a wider bridge that included dedicated bicycle lanes, sidewalks and a landscaped median.
