North Fulton Community Improvement District Receives $2 Million Grant for Davis Drive Extension Proj

The North Fulton Community Improvement District (CID) received a $2 million grant for its Davis Drive Extension project from the State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) through the Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank (GTIB). The North Fulton CID was one of 19 organizations who received funding for transportation infrastructure projects across the state.

“We are thrilled to receive this grant for the Davis Drive Extension project,” said Brandon Beach, North Fulton CID Executive Director. “We prioritized this project based on safety and connectivity for the North Fulton community, and this funding will help us move this project forward to construction.”

The project will extend Davis Drive to the intersection of Westside Parkway and Sanctuary Parkway, modifying the existing four-lane configuration to a two-lane configuration with a center turn lane and bike lanes in each direction. The project aims to improve connectivity to Mansell Road and SR 400 and improve safety by preventing parking lot cut-throughs.

Since its inception in 2009, GTIB has awarded more than $124 million in grants and loans to highly competitive transportation projects to enhance mobility in local communities throughout Georgia. The Davis Drive Extension project was selected out of 32 applications and evaluated based on transportation/engineering merit, economic merit, matching funds and project specifics such as the project phase and feasibility.
