Kimball Bridge Road over SR 400 Will Close For Reconstruction Beginning in May

Beginning May 8, the Kimball Bridge Road bridge over SR 400 will be closed for approximately one year as part of construction on the SR 400 Phase 1 Design-Build project—a project pulled forward from the forthcoming SR 400 Express Lanes project. The SR 400 Phase 1 Design-Build project is replacing the Pitts Road, Roberts Drive, and Kimball Bridge Road bridges over SR 400. The closure will be from the intersection of Kimball Bridge Road and Northwinds Parkway to the intersection of Kimball Bridge Road and North Point Parkway. A detour route will be signed and marked. Motorists can use Northwinds Parkway or North Point Parkway to Haynes Bridge Road during the year-long closure. During construction, there may be periodic traffic impacts on SR 400 between Exit 9 (Haynes Bridge Road) and Exit 10 (Old Milton Parkway). Georgia DOT encourages motorists to use their preferred navigation apps to plan routes ahead of time.

Advisory: Exact time may change due to weather conditions. There may be intermittent traffic pacing and lane and ramp closures that occur within the work zone in addition to this notice. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
