North Fulton CID Approves City of Alpharetta Partnership to Develop Encore Park Gateway and Greenway
North Fulton Community Improvement District Approves City of Alpharetta Partnership to Develop Encore Park Gateway and Greenway Extension
The North Fulton Community Improvement District approved $230,000 to partner with the City of Alpharetta on the concept design of the Encore Park Gateway and Greenway Extension project during their board meeting on Tuesday, March 9th. This decision was made following the City of Alpharetta’s March 8th City Council meeting where the city approved $460,000 toward this project.
“The Big Creek Greenway is one of the City of Alpharetta’s most valuable assets in terms of Economic Development and quality of life for employees and residents,” said Leslie Day-Harrell, North Fulton CID Board Member and Senior Vice President of Corporate Real Estate for Jackson Healthcare. “Designing a more direct route to enter the greenway and creating a space to highlight this asset will only encourage economic investment and awareness of the Big Creek Greenway in this important commercial corridor.”
The Encore Park Gateway and Greenway Extension project was envisioned in the city’s recently completed and approved study to connect the Alpha Loop to the Big Creek Greenway. The project is expected to break ground in mid-2022. This is not the first project to be completed by the City of Alpharetta and North Fulton CID in partnership. Both parties were responsible for the 17.9M Encore Parkway Bridge and Streetscape project that was completed in 2017.
