North Fulton Community Improvement District Approves Local Funding Match

The North Fulton Community Improvement District (CID) approved a total of $800,000 to be used by the North Fulton cities (Alpharetta, Milton, and Roswell) and Fulton County as a local match for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The funding was approved during the North Fulton CID board meeting on Tuesday, May 3rd. The resolution sets aside $200,000 for each local entity.

“Community Improve Districts are perfectly positioned to help local communities access these funds,” said Kerry Armstrong, CID Chairman, Pope & Land. “We are helping our partners expedite important projects and creating an opportunity for our communities to bring these funds to North Fulton.”

Each city will have discretion on what project to use the match dollars for, but the project/improvement must touch the NFCID boundary.

“The City of Alpharetta is extremely grateful for our excellent partnership with the North Fulton CID,” said Alpharetta Mayor Jim Gilvin. “We are excited for the opportunity to benefit from this important funding and feel we are better equipped to apply thanks to the action taken by the North Fulton CID.”

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is an unprecedented piece of legislature passed by congress in the fall of 2021 that set aside $1 Trillion to be used on infrastructure across the country. Nearly half of those funds will be allocated to federal highway, bridge, and public transportation improvements. Local entities will have the opportunity to apply for grants to implement infrastructure projects from roads and bridges to broadband.
