Sun Valley Extension Traffic Study

Overview

Start Date: June 2011

Completion Date: January 2012

Total CID Investment: $28,000

Details

In June 2011, the North Fulton CID agreed to partner with the City of Roswell on a traffic study that could greatly expand connectivity in the Sun Valley and Warsaw Roads area. The area is located west of Georgia 400 and north of Holcomb Bridge Road and is adjacent to the CID and near a major UPS facility.

The unanimous vote by the CID board followed a unanimous vote by the Roswell City Council to fund the traffic study and analysis. The city and CID each paid $28,000 for the study. The Sun Valley/Warsaw connection was one of the projects identified during the CID’s “Blueprint North Fulton” master planning process.

The completed study deemed the extension feasible, and the City of Roswell moved forward with design and construction of the Sun Valley Extension Phase 1. Construction of the roadway will be complete in 2017.

Financial Commitment

Total cost for the study was $56,000. This cost was split 50/50 by the NFCID and the City of Roswell.
